Poet & Speaker

Dwayne Curry  is a spoken word poet and speaker. 

For over 15 years, he has used the power of words to inspire and invoke change in communities, states, and the world. He often shares personal narratives to lift up a wide range of issues related to race, family, and culture.

Dwayne uses poetry as a creative tool to:

1. Educate listeners on issues in the world

2. Advocate for change within communities

3. Elevate relatable experiences 

Dwayne also infuses music into his poetry by integrating the piano into some of his live performances. He has a background in Adult Learning and Public Health and leans into his expertise to share complex issues in understandable ways across multiple types of audiences. 

Dwayne was born and raised in Newark, New Jersey and still resides in the state.
